Three Teenagers Charged with Arson at Vacant McDonald's

The following information was supplied by the Boston Fire Department.

Boston Fire Department responded to a fire at 11:08 p.m. on March 8 at 1663 Veterans of Foreign Wars Parkway. The building was a vacant McDonald’s. Fire fighters battled a heavy fire, which the chief estimated caused $100,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.  According to CBS Boston, Boston police officers found fresh footprints leading away from the building from the open back door. Police followed the tracks to the Charles River. Boston, Dedham and State police then found three teenagers climbing out of the river. Dedham Police caught 19-year-old James McManus of West Roxbury behind the Irish Ale House. McManus was wearing wet clothes and was taken to Faulkner Hospital. The owners have boarded up and secured the building using a local Boston company. Their top priority is SAFETY. They would like the neighborhood to know that the site has always been cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. Arsonist Sets Cars on Fire at VFW Parkway Gas Station in West Roxbury

The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit is currently investigation the fire that destroyed eight cars.

  The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit is investigating who set a fire that destroyed eight cars at Nick's Parkway Auto Repair and Gas overnight in West Roxbury. The fire quickly spread from the two cars to six others, said Steve MacDonald, Boston Fire Department spokesperson. "What it was - we were called to 1200 VFW Parkway at 12:36 a.m. (on Monday) home of Nick’s Parkway Auto Repair – across from West Roxbury High – it’s a combo gas station used car lot. Behind the building they had about 20 cars almost all Subarus," said MacDonald. No one was injured.
