No Money Taken in Attempted Bank Robberies by Same Suspect in West Roxbury and Roslindale

The same suspect tried robbing the Mt. Washington Bank in West Roxbury and Bank of America in Roslindale Village yesterday.

  Boston Police believe the same suspect may have tried to rob three Boston-area banks yesterday, one in West Roxbury, one in Roslindale, and another on Beacon Hill. But at both bank robberies in the Parkway, the suspect was not successful in getting away with any money, according to Boston Police reports. On Dec. 20 around 12:39 p.m. police got a call for an attempted bank robbery at Mt. Washington Bank in West Roxbury at 1985 Centre St. Police were told the suspect may have left fleeing on an MBTA bus, according to a Boston Police report.  Around 12:59 p.m. police got another call for an attempted bank robbery in Roslindale at the Bank of America at 29 Corinth St. Police nearly missed the suspect this time, as tellers pointed to the rear…

Attempted Bank Robbery at Mt. Washington Bank in West Roxbury

Boston Police were called for a bank robbery at 12:42 p.m. today.

  Boston Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery at Mt. Washington Bank today at 12:42 p.m. Located at 1985 Centre St., in West Roxbury, a Boston Police spokesperson confirmed police responded to a call for an attempted bank robbery at the location. Reports suggest the robbery was a black female who possibly fled on the MBTA 35 or 36 bus, according to alertnewengland's twitter feed. Red-Masked Bank Robber Got Away with $5,000+

Suspect wanted in yesterday's robbery of the City of Boston Credit Union.

  A red-masked robber made away with more than $5,000 yesterday from the City of Boston Credit Union. The suspect came in shortly before 2:50 p.m. wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt underneath, blue hospital pants, white Adidas sneakers, beige hospital gloves, a red mask, and round sunglasses.  The suspect allegedly said to one teller, "I don't want to hurt anyone, give me what you have, no dye pack." The suspect had an unknown item in his left hand, said the teller, and brandished it in a threatening manner. The suspect got $1818 from this teller, according to a Boston Police report. The suspect went to a second teller and said, "No buttons, don't look at me" and stole $3610 from this teller.  The robber then went into…

Bank Robbery: City of Boston Credit Union Held Up

A suspect fled with money around 2:45 p.m. today.

  The City of Boston Credit Union at 77 Spring Street was heldup by an unknown suspect, who was able to get away with an unknown amount of money at this time. The BPD received an initial report of the robbery at 2:47 p.m. It is unknown whether the suspect had a weapon or not, or in what direction the robber fled. Attempted Robbery of Eastern Bank

Police looking for a white male possibly in a black truck.

  Boston Police are searching for a white male who passed a note demanding money to an Eastern Bank teller around 1:25 p.m. today. It is unknown at this time whether the suspect was given money. AlertNewEngland tweeted the suspect fled "in a black truck with a partial plate of "1158"," from the bank at 2029 Centre St., in West Roxbury, according to scanner reports. A BPD media spokesperson said it is unknown whether the suspect was given money or not, and that witness reports indicated a female was driving a possible getaway vehicle.

Boston Man Pleads Guilty to Robbing Hyde Park Savings Bank in November of Last Year

Andrew Higgins, 44, faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

Boston resident Andrew Higgins pled guilty and was convicted of robbing the Hyde Park Savings Bank in November of last year, and could serve up to 20 years in federal prison.  According to an FBI press release, Higgins, 44, pled guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns to the November 3, 2010, robbing of the Centre Street bank. Higgins was quickly caught after he robbed the bank wearing a blue sweatshirt and black ski mask after he fled to a getaway vehicle outside. Bank personnel reported the vehicle’s make, model and license plate. Police located the vehicle and the driver, who was detained and not charged. Higgins was found a short time later getting out of a cab on Savin Hill Avenue in Dorchester, and was caught after a short …
