It is a well-documented fact that President Barack Obama enjoys his beer. Remember how he squashed the Professor Henry Louis Gates arrest with a beer summit? Knowing that Obama likes his beer, District 6 Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley recommended Doyle's Pub in Jamaica Plain to the President, when they met briefly at the White House's Christmas Party. Asked why he recommended Doyle's Pub in Jamaica Plain, O'Malley said, "Doyle’s - because it’s a great, old political pub." Only State House employees will get to sample some tasty Massachusetts craft brews to support a bill to help small brewers distribute their products better in the Commonwealth.
Tonight State House employees will get to sample some of the finest Massachusetts craft brewers' beers in a delicious attempt to sway legislation by the Massachusetts Brewers Guild. Unfortunately, the tasting is only available to some State House employees, but without polling Patch believes the people would possibly be swayed to support the legislation if sampling were made public. A bill supported by the guild they say would make it easier to distribute their products, has sat pending for months in the Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure. So in a catered affair by the Guild, tonight from 6-8:30 p.m., more than 25 Massachusetts breweries are pouring their finest craft beer samples. The bill faces the biannual…
