More than 20 Boston businesses are being recognized this spring by the Boston Business Journal for being among the fastest growing private companies in Massachusetts. The 2013 Pacesetters includes 70 companies from across the commonwealth—businesses that saw the most revenue growth over the past three years, with a revenue baseline of $1 million, according to the BBJ website. Chris McIntosh, publisher of the Boston Business Journal, called the list an “excellent snapshot of the businesses and entrepreneurs who drive the Massachusetts economy.” The 2013 Pacesetters will be recognized at an April 25 event in downtown Boston. Jim Hennigan has been running the Parkway Kettle Campaign for more than 10 years in the Parkway area.
Many of may recognize Jim Hennigan from ringing the Salvation Army bell outside of Roche Bros in West Roxbury. But did you know that Hennigan has also been the organizer of the Parkway Kettle Campaign for 11 years? The Boston Business Journal featured 10 of Boston area's top Salvation Army bell ringers, including Hennigan. Hennigan owns the Hennigan Insurance Agency (an advertiser on West Roxbury Patch). Hennigan has said he saw Corps Sergeant Major Edward Gooding ring the bell for years outside of the supermarket, and that inspired him to organize community bell-ringing. Congratulations, Jim, for the work you do to help the Salvation Army in the community. Since the first year, the West Roxbury Business and Professional Association has been honored to taken a day to "ring the bell" and I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy doing this good deed.
