A doctor at Faulkner Hospital lost his license after the discovery of an affair with a patient.
The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine voted to revoke the medical license of a doctor at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital according to WCVB, Channel 5 News. Gary R. Brockman’s license was revoked after it was discovered that he had allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a patient. The 1984 graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine had been licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts since 1988. Brockman has reportedly been given until December 11 to close down his practice at Faulkner Hospital.
The 100-year-old hospital changed its name as of Monday.
Faulkner Hospital on Monday changed its name to Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. The non-profit hospital in Jamaica Plain has for 15 years had a partnership with Brigham and Women's, according to a press release about the name change. Dr. Michael Gustafson, chief operating officer of the newly-renamed hospital, said in a press statement that the change reflects increasing integration and a "commitment to offer a seamless campus to our patients and to redesign care for maximum efficiency and the best possible outcomes."
