I can’t wait to start playing football in college." Reeves, a defensive back, and Williams, a linebacker, have been among the most …

Catholic Conference on the Line When CM Hosts BC High Thanksgiving Morning

The 50th anniversary of the rivalry will also see the stadium's dedication to former coach Jim O'Connor.

What better way for the Catholic Memorial School to honor two-time Eastern Massachusetts Super Bowl winning coach Jim O'Connor than to dedicate the football team's stadium to him during a halftime ceremony on Thanksgiving, in the 50th annual rivalry game against BC High? Perhaps by earning their first trip to the playoffs since that third Super Bowl in 1978 on the very same day. Thanksgiving has loomed on the Knights' schedule all season. The two teams always seemed to be on a collision path, gelling as units in the first half of the season and running through Catholic Conference opponents in the second. Now, the teams will play for the Conference championship. By announcing the dedication, CM (7-1, 3-0) upped the day's stakes even more. …

Catholic Memorial Football's Loaded Roster Yields High Expectations in 2011

With the team's four captains all Division I-bound next year, Knights will be under the spotlight in 2011.

In the fall of 2009, what could be called a three-year window opened for the Catholic Memorial football team. That fall, heading a young team, CM coach Alex Campea gave the offensive reigns to then-sophomore quarterback AJ Doyle. Also sophomores, long-time best friend Armani Reeves and Camren Williams claimed starting spots on defense and playing time in a receiving rotation on offense. A fourth featured sophomore, track star Donovan Henry, also took roles in both the offensive and defensive backfields. Fast forward to their third season as the team's featured players and the window, though set to close come late November or early December, rests wide open. Doyle, Reeves, Williams, and Donovan stand together as the team's captains. What's …
