Catholic Memorial Hosts First Model UN Conference
More than 100 students from eight area schools attended the conference, including students from Boston Latin School, BC High, Natick, Foxboro, Needham, Littleton, Stoneham and Sandwich.
Catholic Memorial School’s Model UN program, in its third year of competition since several students reorganized the club in 2010, hosted its first-ever conference at the school’s West Roxbury campus on November 17. More than 100 students from eight area schools attended the conference, including students from Boston Latin School, BC High, Natick, Foxboro, Needham, Littleton, Stoneham and Sandwich. In the course of the day on Saturday, students argued about current events like the crisis in Syria and Israel and historical events like the Chernobyl meltdown in mockup sessions meant to emulate those of the United Nations.
