Chronic Traffic Offender Charged with Vehicular Homicide of West Roxbury Boy

Zyoma Vasserman of Newton, was released without bail, but had to surrender his driver's license while the case is pending. Suspect's car was scene speeding on VFW Parkway via multiple surveillance cameras in area.

  A Newton man with a long history of driving offenses was arraigned this morning at the West Roxbury District Court on vehicular homicide charges for the death of Francis McInerney on VFW Parkway last summer. Zyoma Vasserman, 49, was charged with motor vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and the civil infraction of speeding, due to the 17-year-old West Roxbury youth’s death on the night of June 14, 2010. Surveillance footage from multiple cameras along Wasserman’s route showed Vasserman was travelling at speeds as fast as 59 mph as he drove toward the scene of the collision, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Vehicle Homicide Charge for Driver Who Killed 17-Year-Old West Roxbury Boy

Zyoma Vasserman is being summonsed to West Roxbury District Court tomorrow for the motor vehicle homicide of Francis McInerney on June 14.

  The driver of a vehicle that killed a 17-year-old West Roxbury boy on June 14 will face a charge of motor vehicle homicide on Wednesday at the West Roxbury District Court. Zyoma Vasserman, 48, of Newton, is expected to be arraigned tomorrow, according to Jake Wark, Press Secretary for the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.  Francis McInerney, 17, of West Roxbury, was one of six teenagers crossing the VFW Parkway at Gardner Street before 10 p.m. and was struck by a motor vehicle on June 14. Preliminary Investigation Points to Driver Not Being at Fault for Pedestrian's Death in West Roxbury

Francis McInerney, 17, was with friends crossing the VFW Parkway to get a slush at Marino's, when he was struck by a vehicle.

Teary-eyed friends of Francis McInerney stood across from the spot on the VFW Parkway where the West Roxbury resident was struck and killed by a car last night, trying to make sense of the tragedy. "He was always generous. He didn't care. He loved life. He did what he wanted. It just sucks," said Brendan Deady, of his friend. "He loved hanging around with his friends and was very social." McInerney, 17, of West Roxbury, was one of six teenagers crossing the VFW Parkway at Gardner Street before 10 p.m. and was struck by a motor vehicle. How did the authorities conclude that the car driver, who was repeatedly video'd at speeds near 60mph, ..was, when he killed the pedestrian...NOT speeding.? Did the BPD use any kind of "accident deconstruction specialists", at all? My gut tells me the motorist's speed was an enormous factor....
