West Roxbury Man Turns in Father's Gun on Same Day as Newtown Tragedy

A West Roxbury resident turned a handgun into Boston Police District E-5, saying he no longer wanted his father's gun in his home. The man turned in the Browning High Power .9-mm with 50 rounds of ammunition after walking into the police station around 7:47 p.m. on Dec. 14. The man also turned in one rifle round, a safety lock with two keys, and a brown leather carrybag. The gun was taken and secured in the station's gun locker.
