Saturday's Parkway Little League Parade honored veterans, some players rode in convertibles, while the majority marched their way to a wonderful Opening Day.
Led by the newest Parkway politician, Lord Mayor Richie Gormley, the Parkway Little League Parade celebrated the league's 60th anniversary on a beautiful Saturday. One by one, teams marched down from Roslindale's Fallon Field down Centre Street as the The New Liberty Jazz Band followed. Little Cardinals, Dodgers, Orioles and the beloved Red Sox, sponsored by local entities cheered, smiled, and laughed their way to Baker Street. Parents, grandparents, siblings and more snapped photos, honked horns and cheered for their favorite Parkway Little Leaguers. The 2012 Parkway Little League Parade is scheduled for Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. at Fallon Field in Roslindale. This year is Parkway Little League's 60th anniversary this season.
