Parkway Little League Celebrates 60th Opening Day

Saturday's Parkway Little League Parade honored veterans, some players rode in convertibles, while the majority marched their way to a wonderful Opening Day.

  Led by the newest Parkway politician, Lord Mayor Richie Gormley, the Parkway Little League Parade celebrated the league's 60th anniversary on a beautiful Saturday. One by one, teams marched down from Roslindale's Fallon Field down Centre Street as the The New Liberty Jazz Band followed. Little Cardinals, Dodgers, Orioles and the beloved Red Sox, sponsored by local entities cheered, smiled, and laughed their way to Baker Street. Parents, grandparents, siblings and more snapped photos, honked horns and cheered for their favorite Parkway Little Leaguers. At the Guy Cammarata Complex on Baker Street, League President Joe Castellano announced a new Bunker Field would be created at the complex within the next two years. He added engraved …

Parkway Little League Parade Scheduled for Saturday

The 60th Parkway Little League season starts with Saturday's parade that begins at 11:30 a.m. from Fallon Field.

  The 2012 Parkway Little League Parade is scheduled for Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. at Fallon Field in Roslindale. This year is Parkway Little League's 60th anniversary this season. The Parkway Little League Parade begins the Little League season and games will begin with the First Pitch at the Guy Cammarata Complex at 1:30 p.m. “We always look forward to the Little League Parade because it is a fun day for the kids and parents to march and show their support for Little League. The day of the parade is always a busy one at the Complex, so it’s a great way to kick off the season,” said Joe Castellano, president of Parkway Little League. Earlier this year, state Rep.
