Treseler Photos: Parkway Girls Win B.A.Y.S. President's Cup

Parkway girls delivered two big penalty kicks to win tough single elimination tournament.

  The Parkway Girls U-12 team won the President's Cup Tournament Championship this past weekend in a heart-wrenching game that couldn't be settled after two five-minute overtimes. The Parkway girls ended up winning on penalty kicks in Medfield, in the tough single elimination bracketed tourney. Facing the Milford-Hopedale Renegades, Parkway scored four minutes remaining in the first half, said Coach Joe Sullivan. The Renegades would tie the score in the second half, and it would remain tied until the penalty kicks, when Parkway won, 2-0. Said Coach Joe Sullivan, "We began the tournament against Wayland and won 4-0. Next up was Wellesley and we won 5-1. We then played Cambridge and we won 4-0." Millennium Park spring Sundays are full of soccer-clad kids running up and down the fields.

  The Parkway Youth Soccer league had a full schedule on Sunday with 29 games among the five age divisions. These photos are from Cathy Dougherty from Under-10 Division, in the heated game between the McNally Blue Thunder and the Steve Joyal Lime at Millennium Park.

Twenty-nine Parkway Youth Soccer games were played on Saturday at Millennium Park.

  John Dougherty sent in these soccer pictures from May 19 of the Parkway Youth Soccer league, which played 29 games at Millenium Park on Saturday among five age divisions from 5- to 15-years-old. These pictures are from the C Division (younger than 10-years-old). The McNally blue team downed the McCarthy gold team by a final score of, 3-0. Did you take photos of Parkway Youth Soccer games? Players and their families were treated to a wonderful family day on Saturday at Millennium Park.

Parkway Youth Soccer's Family Day was held on Saturday at Millennium Park. Players, parents, friends, family, canines and more chased soccer balls around the fields before there was face-painting, summer food and plenty of fun.

West Roxbury Youth Soccer Season Kicks Off

Three leagues will call Millennium Park home this season.

Millennium Park saw more than a thousand young athletes take to its fields as West Roxbury's youth soccer season kicked off Saturday. Both Parkway United Soccer's travel teams and Parkway Youth Soccer's recreational teams saw action throughout the day. Roxbury Latin's soccer squad also practiced on the fields from 11-1. "It's just a great park for soccer," Parkway United president Chris Harttman said. "Part of what we do is make sure Millennium Park is a great place for people all over the Boston area to come play soccer."
