Lots of Bunnies Surrendered to MSPCA in Time for Easter Adoptions
Two bunnies often turn into many bunnies, which is why a Springfield man ended up with 63 pet rabbits, and now they need new homes.
Editor's note: The following is a press release from the MSPCA. Overwhelmed with having to care for 63 pet rabbits, a Springfield man on Friday surrendered all of the animals to the MSPCA-Angell and the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield. Dakin took in 15 of the rabbits, with the MSPCA-Angell Adoption Centers in Boston and Methuen taking the remaining 48. The owner had purchased two rabbits — a male and a female — from a pet store three years ago and in short order they began to breed. Despite taking excellent care of the rabbits he could no longer care for them and turned to Dakin and the MSPCA for help.
