District 6 Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley attended the White House Christmas Party on Dec. 18.
District 6 Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley attended the White House's annual Christmas Party and briefly got to speak with President Barack Obama. "It was a thrill of a lifetime," said O'Malley about the Dec. 18 Washington D.C. party. "We had about 30 seconds to talk to the President and the First Lady. I introduced myself as a city councilor of Boston. And he said ‘I love Boston.’ I said 'We love you. The next time you’re in town I want to personally invite you and the First Lady to Doyle’s in Jamaica Plain.' And he laughed and that was it." Asked why he recommended Doyle's Pub in Jamaica Plain, O'Malley said, "Doyle’s - because it’s a great, old political pub." "If it indeed ever happens. We’d do a District 6 pub crawl – Doyle’s, …

Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley recommended Doyle's Pub in Jamaica Plain to the President of the Unites States of America.
It is a well-documented fact that President Barack Obama enjoys his beer. Remember how he squashed the Professor Henry Louis Gates arrest with a beer summit? Knowing that Obama likes his beer, District 6 Boston City Councilor Matt O'Malley recommended Doyle's Pub in Jamaica Plain to the President, when they met briefly at the White House's Christmas Party. Asked why he recommended Doyle's Pub in Jamaica Plain, O'Malley said, "Doyle’s - because it’s a great, old political pub." O'Malley told Patch he'd include West on Centre and The Corrib in an unplanned Parkway Political Pub Crawl. So what restaurant/pub in West Roxbury would you recommend to President Barack Obama? Washington, DC 20515 Dear President Obama and Speaker Boehner, I know a little bit about the importance of funding for health research, training, and care. Boston is home to the #1 medical school in the country and the #1 hospital in the country. Researchers in Boston earn more NIH support than in any other city. Health care companies and institutions employ more people than any other sector. Oh, and there’s this: I …

On Wednesday, tickets to the Cyclorama will be…a bit more expensive than usual. President Barack Obama is holding a campaign fundraiser at the South End venue, with nosebleed seats available for a $500 contribution. A donation of $1,000 earns you the title of “Friend” and a seat in the premium section, while $10,000 contributors will be invited to a “photoline” reception. The fundraiser is one of the President’s first in his newly launched 2012 re-election campaign. Details of the event, which is scheduled to start at 3 p.m., have not been released. According to the Globe, Celtics shooter Ray Allen and Hall of Famer Bill Russell will join Obama at the event. For South End residents, the presidential visit means crowds and parking …
