It was a very tight two-way race between Halls of Tara and Jack Davis Florist until JDF pulled away in the last 24 hours of voting.
West Roxbury Patch readers have chosen Jack Davis Florist of Chestnut Hill as - the best florist in West Roxbury. So who gives flowers to the first place winner of best florist contest? Do the florists at Jack Davis make themselves a first-place bouquet? This week's Patch Readers' Choice poll started off well with Halls of Tara and Jack Davis Florist of Chestnut Hill quickly making it a two-way race, leaving the rest of the candidates in the dust. The duo were running neck and neck until last night, when Jack Davis busted out in front, leading to a convincing win. Jack Davis Florist of Chestnut Hill ended with 71 votes out of 134 cast, which netted 52% of the total vote. Halls of Tara Florist received 35 votes, or 26% of the vote. …

Wicked Sharp took an early lead and never relinquished control of the poll. Did they ski away with the win, hit a winner down the line, or some other ski/snowboard/tennis winning metaphor.
Wicked Sharp took an early lead and never relented in this week's Readers' Choice poll asking - what is the best sporting goods store in West Roxbury? Wicked Sharp, which was the first shop of the three nominees to open in the last couple of years, took home 15 total votes for 46% of the vote. Busted Knuckle Bike Shop, which opened second, also finished second, with 9 votes or 28% of the vote. Fittingly, GC Skate Shop finished third, and was the third business of the the vaunted trio to open its doors in the last couple of years. GC took 5 total votes for 15% of the vote. This week's West Roxbury Patch's Readers' Choice poll wants to know what you think is the best sporting goods store in the neighborhood? This poll wouldn't have been possible five years ago; however, several recreational sports enthusiasts have set up shop on Centre Street. There is some very stiff competition in this category, with three businesses owners who are also friends and help each other out on a regular basis. The three businesses - the Busted Knuckle Bike Shop, GC Skate Shop, and Wicked Sharp Ski & Sports, all tend to different recreational sports. It is entirely possible that West Roxbury residents do not wait until the last minute to file taxes? If so, this would account for why the Readers' Choice poll, asking where is the best place to go for last minute tax help, only received three total votes.
