Drop Toys for Tots at Gallagher Insurance in West Roxbury

Drop Toys for Tots at 106 Spring St., in West Roxbury.

  Once again this year Gallagher Insurance & Real Estate has been designated as an official drop-off site for the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program and requests that donors bring unwrapped toys to 106 Spring St., in West Roxbury before Dec 21, 2012. Donations may be made in memory of Lance Corporal Joseph Mclean III, a local resident who died in an accident while on Marine Corps duty in Hawaii. The Toys for Tots program relies solely on donations and all work is done by unpaid volunteers. Through the years Marines have established close working relationships with community agencies such as Gallagher Insurance with Bob Gallagher. Community members then identify needy children in the community and play important roles in the toy …

Ohrenberger-Beethoven Raise $700 for Toys for Tots

The staff and families of the Ohrenberger & Beethoven Schools raised $700 for Toys for Tots.

  The Ohrenberger and Beethoven schools came together to for a one day benefit that raised $700 for Toys for Tots.  Families were notified through a Connect-Ed phone call that asked students to donate $1 to wear regular clothing i.e. not their school uniforms.

Toys for Tots Drop-Off Spots in West Roxbury

  The national US Marine Toys for Tots program is in full swing collecting toys for those less fortunate this holiday season. In West Roxbury alone there are at least eight local toy drop-off spots. All toys must be new, unwrapped and not of a violent nature. All Boston Police Departments, including District E-5 is collecting toys, too. The following are some local drop-off spots: Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization with more than 98% of donations going to providing toys, books and other gifts to less fortunate children. The other 2% is spent to support Toys for Tots fundraising expenses - not one donated dollar goes to pay for salaries or any other manpower cost, according to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation website.

Pay Your Non-Public Safety Boston Tickets with a Toy Donation

Boston kicked off the Toys for Tots program, and welcomed back the Toys for Tickets program.

Boston officials kicked off the Marine Corps annual Toys for Tots campaign this week, as well as one of Boston's favorite programs - Toys for Tickets. The Toys for Tots program has been operated for several years to help Boston residents donate toys during the holiday season to less fortunate children. The Toys for Tickets campaign allows non-public safety parking tickets to be paid by toy donations. “During these difficult economic times, families are struggling everyday just to make ends meet,” said Menino at a public event this past Wednesday about the programs. “After putting food on the table and paying the bills, many parents and guardians don’t have the ability to buy toys.
