Suspicious Photographer Removed After "Tracking" Sen. Brown at Patch Event

On Friday night at the inauguration party, a man was seen taking photos of US Senator Scott Brown every step he took, which attracted the attention of a BPD deputy.

Editor's note: The following incident is based on a Boston Police Department report.  A man had to be removed Friday night from the Inauguration Party after he kept on taking photos of US Sen. Scott Brown. The man was not arrested by the Boston Police Department, but he allegedly said he was a "tracker" for the Massachusetts Democratic Party, assigned to film Brown. Around 9 p.m. a Boston Police Department deputy working Lord Mayor Richie Gormley's Inauguration Party, was told by several people that a man was taking photos of Brown every step he took, and found him suspicious, according to a BPD police report.  The deputy watched the man through the crowd following Brown and saw people pointing at the rogue photographer. Hundreds Honor Lord Mayor Gormley: "He's Done So Much, For So Many, So Quietly"

West Roxbury honored its own Unofficial Mayor Friday with a big parade and a packed-house fundraiser at the Irish Social Club. Attendees included Sen. Scott Brown and Mayor Thomas Menino.

Two teen girls, noticing the film crew walking down Centre Street, asked what was going on. When told it was for the Unofficial Mayor of West Roxbury, one of them replied, "Oh yeah. We know about that." Seemingly everyone in the neighborhood took part Friday in what one observer called "an event unlike any other in the history of West Roxbury" — the inauguration of Lord Mayor Richie Gormley. Hundreds lined the parade route as Gormley, accompanied by fire trucks, Boston Police cars, Gaelic pipes and a basketball-court sized U.S. flag, made his way from his funeral home to the Irish Social Club. "He absolutely deserves it," said Kelly Kane, who screamed in delight as Gormley walked past the Corrib, doffing former Boston Mayor James Michael…

VIDEO: Mayor Menino "Swearing-in" Lord Mayor Gormley; and Sen. Brown Gifts a Bat

The REAL Boston Mayor Thomas Menino enjoyed his time "swearing-in" West Roxbury's Lord Mayor Richie Gormley on Friday night at the Patch.com-sponsored event.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has participated in many swearing-in ceremonies during his storied political career, but probably none quite the swearing-in of Lord Mayor Richie Gormley. You'll have to check the video out because words cannot describe the ceremony. U.S. Sen. Scott Brown presented Gormley with a baseball bat so that newly sworn in unofficial mayor could maintain order. Sen. Brown also chatted on the phone with Governor Deval Patrick when he called to congratulate Lord Mayor Gormley.
