Being Vegan
How one former vegetarian became a vegan.
Vegans are taking over the world. Or so it seems. From Ellen DeGeneres to President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea (both who follow a mostly vegan diet) to Ironman triathlete Brendan Brazier, I like to think I'm in pretty good company. Though I am not vegan because of them (in fact, I've been vegan longer than all of them except for Brendan Brazier). I follow a vegan diet because, quite honestly, I feel much better forgoing animal byproducts than I did when I was eating them. Following a vegan diet isn't something I was raised to do, though I did stop eating red meat and pork around 11 or 12 (it literally made me sick, which I took as a sign that I should stop noshing on hamburgers, hot dogs, pork chops and the like).
