Hello Friends of the West Roxbury and Roslindale Rotary! One of our main activities is fundraising to award local high school students with the Louis M. Kfoury Jr. & Daniel H. Van Ee Memorial Scholarship. Both Louis M. Kfoury Jr. and Daniel H. Van Ee were past presidents of the club and residents of the Parkway area. You have helped us raise these funds and now we'd like your help spending it! Please encourage eligible students you may know to apply. There is an application attached to this article. Applications can be picked up at several local businesses, and the application deadline is June 30.
The West Roxbury/Roslindale Rotary is now accepting applications for the organization's annual scholarship. Students must be residents of Roslindale or West Roxbury, high school seniors enrolled in a school of higher learning. Applications are available at The Cooperative Bank, Brookline Bank, Mt. Washington Bank, Peoples Federal Savings Bank, Blue Hills Bank, Parkway Printing, West Roxbury YMCA, Larosa Real Estate and Travel by Judie Leon or by contacting any Rotarian. Deadline for applications is June 30.

Rose Royce sang 'You might not ever get rich' by working at a car wash, but getting a car wash will help the local Rotary and the international org's Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group (WASRAG) program.
In support of the Rotary Foundation and its initiative on global clean water, the West Roxbury/Roslindale Rotary Club is participating in the Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group (WASRAG) program Follow the above link and you can donate $10 to receive a voucher for a free card wash at any of the participating car wash locations, including Waves Car Wash in West Roxbury. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to the WASRAG program and a portion goes to the West Roxbury/Roslindale Rotary to use in local projects. Vouchers can be used personally or as gifts.

This year's honorees are Alan MacKinnon of the Gardens at Gethesemane, Sister Nancy Braceland of Casserly House in Roslindale, and Frank Sullivan of the The Bulletin newspapers.
The West Roxbury/Roslindale Rotary Club's annual Paul Harris Award Dinner will honor three of the Parkway's greatest community leaders on April 13. This year's honorees are Alan MacKinnon of the Gardens at Gethesemane, Sister Nancy Braceland of the Casserly House in Roslindale, and Frank Sullivan of The Bulletin newspapers. The fundraising dinner will be held at the Elks Hall. The money raised will go to support the Rotary's Scholarship Fund and other community programs. Raffle tickets for the St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands trip can be purchased at the weekly Rotary meeting. A lifelong resident of Roslindale, Rezendes is a board member of the Healthy Roslindale Coalition, Treasurer of Sacred Heart Ladys Sodality, typesetter and contributor for Sacred Heart Church's quarterly paper "Heart Beats," a member of the Roslindale Board of Trade, and the Treasurer of the Sons of Italy Roslindale's Sgt. On May 20, the West Roxbury/Roslindale Rotary Club hosted the Paul Harris Awards at the West Roxbury Elks Club. This year's honorees were long-time Rotarian and past President Robert Starr and local businessman and community benefactor James Hennigan. More than 150 people gathered to honor the honorees. The Rotary event also raised money to support its scholarship fund and other community programs.
