Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice-presidential running mate Rep. Paul Ryan. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you." The Obama campaign won the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from President Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy. The race tightened during the final months of the campaign, with gaffes and surges …

Barack Obama Wins Massachusetts

A majority of voters in Massachusetts on Tuesday cast their ballot for Barack Obama, giving him the state's 11 Electoral votes.

Barack Obama won Massachusetts' 11 electoral votes on Tuesday, defeating Republican Mitt Romney. In the 2008 presidential election, the state voted for the Democratic candidate, and since the 1990s has voted for the overall winner of the presidential race 3 out of 5 times. Shortly after 8 p.m., the AP called Massachusetts for Obama, along with with six other east coast states and the District of Columbia. Romney and Obama did not campaign aggressively in Massachusetts. The state has typically been a Democratic stronghold in recent presidential elections.  The economy was a key issue for many voters in the state, as was the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as Obamacare. Romney cast his ballot this morning in his hometown of Belmont, …

TELL US: Who Won the Senate Debate?

Share your thoughts on Monday's debate.

Sen. Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren faced off in their second debate Monday night at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. Brown touted his bipartisan record and attacked Warren on claims of Native American ancestry and legal work for corporations, painting her as an out-of-touch opportunist. Warren cited her advocacy for the working class and attacked Brown for his votes against jobs bills, casting him as a politician for the wealthy and corporate interests. The Boston Herald has the complete video of the debate. Both candidates got their share of applause from the audience. But we want to know what you think. Who would you say won? Did either candidate sway you in either direction? Were your questions answered? Discuss in …

I agree David. There's a clear agenda by the Brown campaign to attack Warren's character, which I believe is one of her biggest strengths. Karl Rove's strategy to attack your opponents strengths - not their weaknesses - seems to be successfully deployed by the Brown campaign. It's disappointing. It's also disappointing that Warren isn't able to mount very effective counter-attacks given all the …   more ›

Romney + Adultery Billboard: Funny? Inappropriate? Both?

Very social networking site uses Romney's image to knock his tax practices and encourage people to have affairs.

Mitt Romney is a cheater—at least on his taxes—according to online, extramarital personals website AshleyMadison.com. The very social networking site posted that opinion on a billboard in South Boston this week, and the message lasted for less than a day. The billboard featured an image of Gov. Romney putting his finger in front of his lips in the universal sign for "Shhh..." juxtaposed with the message: "if cheating on your taxes is ok, so is... AshleyMadison.com." The ad ended with the company's tagline of "Life is short. Have an affair," and it ended its tenure along the roadside in less than 24 hours. While Romney's tax practices have come under criticism for the use of Caribbean and Swiss bank accounts, there is no evidence the …

The two made their first appearance on the USS Wisconsin, a retired World War II battleship, in Norfolk, Virginia Saturday morning. Romney's campaign also released a biography of Ryan. Here are some of the facts: What do you think of Romney's choice of Paul Ryan for vice president? Let us know in the comment's section.

I think this is good news for the Democrats! Paul Ryan is a tea party Republican. His proposed budget includes cuts to entitlements, such as Medicare and Social Security, and tax breaks for the wealthy.   more ›
