Just Baked started off in Spring Street Cafe and is moving to its own location on Spring Street in the coming weeks.
The Spring Street Cafe is entering its 10th year of service, said owner Beth McNichols. And since November 2011, her second business, Just Baked, her co-owned baked goods company, has been selling out of a case at the Cafe. "That was to see how it goes," said McNichols, of Roslindale. She said she started Just Baked with Frances Kolenik for a simple reason: "Because I love to bake, and I just wanted to do something special." She added, "We make everything from scratch. We use some organic stuff. I like to experiment. Most of the recipes we have are from our mothers and our aunts and friends. So some things we’ve kept the same and some we’ve changed.
