Photos: West Roxbury Restaurants Get Official Ribbon Cuttings

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Main Streets leaders participated in an official 'Welcome to the Neighborhood!' celebration on Saturday.

Four West Roxbury restaurants, which have quickly been embraced by tastebuds across the neighborhood, had their official ribbon cuttings on Saturday. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Department of Neighborhood Development Acting Director William Cotter joined residents and business owners to celebrate four new restaurants that opened with help from the City of Boston's Office of Business Development and West Roxbury Main Streets: Los Amigos, Red-Eyed Pig, Banh Mi Ngon, and LeanWorks. AUDIO SLIDESHOW: Meet Daniel Ustayev, the 22-Year-Old Owner of Los Amigos

Ustayev has brought a taqueria to Centre Street before even graduating from college.

Daniel Ustayev is on the verge of earning his bachelor's in entrepeneurship from Babson College, which seems deserved given that he's already running his own Centre Street business. Ustayev, the 22-year-old son of Christo's Pizza owner Nathan Ustayev, opened Los Amigos, a burrito shop and tacqueria, in early February at 1743 Centre St. He's pulling long hours between school and work, but the community seems to appreciate it; he says business has been great. That stands to reason given that a Centre Street burrito joint has long been on West Roxbury's wish list. In the above audio slideshow, Ustayev tells Patch about work, school, and growing up around Christo's.
