Fashion Mob, Red Carpet Arrives in West Roxbury Thursday

Fairview corner will be filled with food, music, dancing and models.

Fairview Corner in West Roxbury will be overtaken by a fashion mob on Thursday.

The event, which will be located at the corner of 162-170 Spring St., will run from 6-9 p.m. Starting at 7 p.m., a 50-foot red carpet will be rolled out on the sidewalk, with music blasting from nearby as local models walk down the catwalk in spring fashions from businesses in the corner, including Top It Off Accessories and Fabutique

"The spring looks will allow women to look and feel their best and empower them to do so with confidence," said Marika Gauerenszky of Fabutique in a statement.

The event will also feature food and refreshments from BakerBaker, and a raffle will take place to raise money for Boston-based nonprofit Survivor Tails Animal Rescue, which will have foster and rescue dogs on hand to walk with the models. Business representatives will also sell 50/50 raffle tickets to raise money for breast cancer research.

"I'm so excited to be able to shine the spotlight on the playful dogs from the animal rescue and promote the adoption of these amazing animals," Nancy Harris, a volunteer with Survivor Tails, said in a statement.

"As members of the West Roxbury community, we are focused on giving back to this great community and this event is a family-friendly fun way to do so," said Beth McNichols of BakerBaker.
